A key factor in attracting and retaining productive employees is employer-provided benefit plans, but improperly managed, they can have a negative impact on the bottom line. Our consulting efforts have resulted in direct profit enhancement and substantial client savings. We are problem solvers, strategists and planners. Clients' philosophy and business plans are used to develop a strategy relevant to their benefit compensation needs. We use account management, risk identification and analytical techniques proven to be successful. We do not represent a specific insurance company, HMO or other vendor of services. Since we have access to the entire vendor community, our client is our only interest.

We help organizations formulate and implement strategies for benefit planning to achieve corporate cost and employee relations goals.

First, we will understand the characteristics of your existing benefit plans and your unique needs to:

  • Help you define your benefit philosophy and objectives
  • Develop employee surveys and/or conduct focus groups, then analyze the results
  • Assess the claims paying performance of vendors currently providing programs
  • Measure plan effectiveness and compare it to published standards and information from similar companies
  • Review benefit plan administration, including state and federal compliance
  • Evaluate cost containment measures and vendor effectiveness
  • Audit reserve/retention levels and experience/utilization reports

Next, we will evaluate, design, implement and monitor a wide variety of benefit plans based upon your specific requirements. We will:

  • Identify the right balance of plans and which plans to offer
  • Help you determine if employee choice is to be part of your plan and how these options should be funded
  • Evaluate and help you select the right funding arrangements, including self insurance
  • Help you determine the right mix of employee contributions
  • Recommend, if appropriate, cost containment programs such as managed care, decision consulting, wellness and employee assistance programs
  • If necessary, prepare bid specifications, conduct competitive bidding and negotiate managed care arrangements, such as Preferred Provider Organizations, Health Maintenance Organizations, Exclusive Provider Organizations, Employee Assistance Programs and Utilization Review Programs
  • Communicate benefit plans, existing and new

On an ongoing basis, we will:

  • Monitor plan performance
  • Develop health care cost projections
  • Negotiate renewals
  • Renew contracts and booklets
  • Prepare annual and other periodic reports with recommendations for change
  • Bring new ideas to your attention whenever we believe that they can increase effectiveness or reduce costs
  • Resolve difficult claims and administrative problems
